I am an ecologist with a broad interest in the link between above- and below-ground processes that shape carbon and nutrient cycling in forest ecosystems. I use a combination of field observations, experiments and large datasets to ask how trees interact with their soil environment, how these interactions affect forest carbon and nutrient cycling, and how these ecosystem dynamics are affected by rapid global change. I am fascinated by tropical forests and have more than 15 years of experience in the tropics. I currently live with my husband and little one in French Guiana, where my work takes place in the tropical forests of Paracou and Nouragues. Through my passion I took the opportunity to develop my research in fantastic experimental sites such as the Victoria-Mayaro Reserve Forest in Trinidad, Wytham Wood in the UK, the Barro Colorado Nature Monument in Panama and the Tapajós National Forest in Brazil. |
